21 Interventions: Slide Show + Celebration

4/15/2021 / 5:00pm

The Art Center's notable architecture has captured the imagination of artists and visitors alike, creating a rich environment for displaying art. In honor of the exhibition Iowa Artists 2021: Olivia Valentine, we'll be looking back on 21 unforgettable site-specific installations displayed at the Art Center within the past 25 years. Listen to artist Lewis deSoto share about his noteworthy and inspiring 1995 exhibition at the Des Moines Art Center, Four Interventions.

From tape tunnels to gold leaf, stacked straws to flooded courtyards, the Art Center is excited to share with you a retrospective on some of our favorite ways artists have interacted with our physical spaces, including a look at Valentine's current work in the Richard Meier Building "Meditate/Equivocate."
