Art and Activism: Weekend Workshop for Teens

6/22/2018 - 6/24/2018

Feminism and Art

Join the Art Center for a free series of summer Art Activism workshops for teens! Using the Art Center’s permanent collections as a catalyst, teens will discuss social movements and discover the power of activism through artistic expression. Each workshop will consist of a tour, peer discussion, and studio art project. Come together with other teens to celebrate, share, create, and discuss activism and art while working alongside local artists.

In June we will explore how artists have used art as a tool to advocate for women’s rights. Study female artists, discuss equity and women’s rights, and create art in response to the feminist movement.

Workshop Schedule

Friday, June 22 / 6 – 9 pm: Tour and Reflection

Saturday, June 23 / 9:30 – 3:30 pm: Workshops and Art Creation

Sunday, June 24 / Noon – 3 pm / Showcase
