Warhol & Halston: Silver & Suede explores the creativity and friendship between two of the most iconic
figures of contemporary American fashion and art. Organized by the Warhol Museum in Pittsburg in
collaboration with the Des Moines Art Center, Warhol & Halston will consist of original paintings, works
on paper, clothes and ephemera by the two men. Many of the Warhol works in the exhibition were
donated to the Art Center by Des Moines native Roy Halston Frowick (1932-1990), and will explore the
dynamic of their friendship through their mutual love of celebrity, design and beauty. This major traveling
exhibition will premiere at the Des Moines Art Center before embarking on a national itinerary. The exhibition
will be accompanied by a major publication edited by Eric Shiner, Director of the Warhol Museum.
