Sunday Workshops
Family workshops are designed for parents and children ages 5 and older. (Please plan for each adult to work with no more than two children.) All materials are furnished except where noted.
Please preregister and prepay by calling the Education Department at 515.271.0306 by the Wednesday prior to the workshop.
($) = fee for members.
Each workshop begins promptly at 1 pm. Please arrive on time.
The Wonders of Watercolor
Explore a variety of techniques unique to the medium of watercolor. Use salt resist, masking, and other tricks to unlock the magic of this fascinating medium. Make a collage of an imaginary animal with the papers you paint.

Personal Totems
Sonny Assu’s work in the Art Center’s main gallery exhibition World Histories incorporates themes from popular culture and his Native American heritage. Borrowing from Northwest Coast Indians, create a totem expressing your personal identity.
