Links Internship Program

Summary

The Links Internship Program is a 13-week, paid, educational opportunity for a talented African American student exploring a career in museums, arts management, cultural organizations, education, business administration, or nonprofits. 

The intern will have assigned projects to complete during the defined period of the internship, but will also participate in broader aspects of the museum’s operations. A tailored educational experience in the student’s area of study will be provided. The intern will receive supervision throughout the internship to ensure the participant gains the most benefit from this partnership with the Des Moines Art Center.

The duration of this internship is four months starting in mid to late January; actual schedule, including start and end dates, will be set by the intern in conjunction with the Art Center. The intern will work approximately 100 hours during the internship period, and will be paid $10 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university undergraduate or graduate program
