Tandem Gallery Dialogue: Ruptures

8/17/2017 / 6:30pm

Artist Lauren Fensterstock and Senior Curator Alison Ferris

Artist Lauren Fenterstock’s work will be explored in the exhibition Ruptures with Senior Curator Alison Ferris.

Fensterstock’s sculpture, The Order of Things, brings together references to ornamental 18th century shell grottos, the scientific order of a natural history collection, and the geological accretion of natural caves. Wrought in her signature dark hues, “nature” ruptures “culture” in The Order of Things resulting in a work that offers us intriguing ideas about the hybrid.
