A Slow Art Day Tradition
on Thursday, April 6, 2017
For the third year, the Des Moines Art Center is excited to host a Slow Art Day celebration. One day each year, people all over the world visit local museums and galleries to look at art slowly. The goal is to focus on art and the art of seeing.
Since the Art Center began hosting Slow Art Day, we've offered an entirely unexpected way for participants to share their experiences. Each year, participants receive a special commemorative button—featuring the turtle sculpture in the Greenwood Park Rose Garden—to showcase their Slow Art Day pride. Join us this year to claim your Slow Art Day button!
We also invite participants to share their experiences using the hashtag #DSMSlowArtDay on social media.
