Kick off ART MEETS FASHION in the East Village on Saturday, September 13 with the Window Dressings
open house. View fashion-inspired window displays while mingling with artists, shop owners,
and fellow art lovers.

Inspired by the work in the upcoming major exhibition, Halston and Warhol: Silver and Suede, 19
local artists have partnered with East Village businesses to create Window Dressings — fabulous
window displays throughout Des Moines' East Village. Attendees at the open house will have the
opportunity to view the creations, mingle with shop owners, meet the artists, and enjoy refreshments
while strolling through the East Village.

Window Dressings will be on display through Sunday, September 27.

Participating businesses include:
Accenti, Aimee, Amour, Dornink, Eden, J. Brownlee, Jett and Monkey's Dog Shoppe,
Kitchen Collage, Leona Ruby, Lucca, Peep Toe Shoes, Projects Contemporary Furniture,
Raygun, Sticks, Velvet Coat, Village Boutique, Westrum Optometry, and Wooly's.

Artists creating Window Dressings include:
James Bearden, Alex Brown, Sarah Dornink, Catherine Dreiss, Steve Gerberich, Pete Goché,
Sarah Grant, Mary Jones, Gabriel Leuders, Rachel Merrill, Robert Schulte, Jr., Lindy Smith,
Robert Spellman, Mitchell Squire, Jessica Teckemeyer, Jeffrey Thompson, Chris Vance, and
two student groups from Iowa State University: Fashion Merchandising and Architecture Toy Studio.
